God speaks!

And the people who He called, listened.
And they went out of their comfort zone to experience God in Guatemala!

A few of the team members spoke at our church yesterday.

It was incredible to hear the journey that these people
experienced and are still experiencing.

God is alive and well and preforming miracles before my eyes!

Brady wore this shirt to school today.
He said that he had some kids ask
if he really had a blood donor
save his life.
His answer was,
"Ever hear of Jesus Christ?
He died on the cross for you and me!"

John 3:16, "For God so loved the world
that he gave his only begotten son,
that whoever believes in him
should not perish but have everlasting life.

First Day of School

My babies are all getting so big!!!

Kenzie is the first one off in the morning
This is her last year in Middle School!
She is ready for a rockin' year!

Conner and Jorja were next!
Conner is excited for a fresh start as
head of the elementary school!
Conner rides his bike to school
and Daddy took Jorja to school.
She went for Bryan with no problem.
(Today for me, she was a bit more attached -
but I'm sure she will be fine!)
Jorja loves being in kindergarten!

And then there is my 10th grader!
Such a good boy!
Brady told me the other day that,
this last summer was his best summer ever!
He wants to spend a full month (or more) in
Guatemala next summer!
He's ready to work hard at school so he
has more opportunities after High School!
oh, I'm sure fun will be had - but he really
is maturing!

Jailyn had a hard day without her brothers and sisters
and was so excited when they came home!

Impossible...

Easy Lasagna Pie!

Last week I decided it was time to organize
my kitchen and household chores.
(Am I nesting???)
After cleaning and organizing my cabinets and pantry,
I knew that I needed to get back to
my monthly meal planning.
I kinda got carried away...
imagine that...
I made a meal menu plan for the next 10 weeks!
Yes, I only had to think about meals for one day -
and now I have my grocery lists
and menus
for 10 WEEKS!
It's not every day that I find a recipe
that my entire family likes.
Infact, it is far from every day!
So, I decided to try some old recipes and
some new ones and see what works.

The meal plan began this week!
We had two nights of crock pot recipes -
Monday:
Kielbasa and potatoes.
This meal received 3 stars from the family!
(I'm good with that)

Tuesday:
Foil Wrapped Chicken
Though this was not supposed to be a crock pot meal,
but when I looked at our evening activities
I threw all the fixin's in the pot!
This meal received 3 stars also -
some thought it was too spicy,
nothing a little ketchup didn't cure.

But, Wednesday was the best...
My friend, Geri, made this for me years ago!
And I hadn't made it for a long time -
but it received 5 stars!
Every one was happy
until it was gone and they wanted more -
so I guess I will double the batch next time.

Try it with your family:

Impossible Easy Lasagna Pie
1/3 cup ricotta cheese or small curd creamed cottage cheese
3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1 pound lean ground beef
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (4 ounces)
1/2 cup spaghetti sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup Original Bisquick® mix
1 cup milk
2 eggs
Additional spaghetti sauce, heated, if desired

1. Heat oven to 400ºF. Grease 9-inch pie plate.
Spread ricotta cheese in pie plate;
sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
Cook ground beef until brown; drain.
Stir in 1/2 cup of the mozzarella cheese,
1/2 cup spaghetti sauce and the salt;
spoon evenly over cheeses.
2. Stir Bisquick mix, milk and eggs until blended.
Pour into pie plate.
3. Bake 30 to 35 minutes. Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
Bake 1 to 2 minutes longer or until melted.
Cool 5 minutes.
High Altitude (3500-6500 ft) Heat oven to 425ºF.
Decrease milk to 3/4 cup.
Increase first bake time to 35 to 40 minutes.

Quote of the week!

Jorja was not being very nice to Jailyn,
so I told her, "Jorja be nice."
and this was her answer...

"I no need be nice...

I pretty."

Oh,no! This is not good!
We have a lot of work to do before she
hits 13!

Chun Yu has a mommy that loves her very much!
We love to laugh, sing, cook, play and learn together!
Chun Yu loves to tell me about the trouble you two got into in China. LOL :)

Lunch Box Dilemma

For us school begins in 11 days.
Therefore there are a lot of emotions
and activities rolling through our house...
Excitement, fear, stress,organizing,
shopping for supplies
(choosing that one special notebook
can be stressful),
shopping for clothes
(that are within dress code)
Of course, there is the lack of activities -
my kids think it will help to be lazy now -
storing up their energy!

But,
the most stressful shopping choice
is the treasured
lunch-box!

Do we brown bag it?

Do we show off our favorite cartoon character?

Do we go with our favorite color?

What will look cool!

What will my friends have?

Oh the decisions!
(Buying lunch at school is not an option!
Too expensive, too much grease,
too long of a line to finally get food
and not enough time to eat
and digest the grease.)

After finding the greatest box ever!

The one that will make all my friends jealous,

the one that will accentuate my cuteness!
...
within the first month.

It will be lay forgotten on the playground

never to be seen again,

tears will flow over the

perfect box.

and we will rely on the ole' brown bag!
Special stickers will dress this ole' bag up
and tears will be dried up!

Why do I buy into the marketing of
the lunch box?

Happy school shopping to y'all!

Mom's see everything!

Yesterday Jailyn and Jorja were in their room
for quiet time.
Jorja came out a bit later and smelt
like baby powder.

I. was. worried.

When I asked Jorja if she had played
with the baby powder.

She said,
"No Jorja do...
No Mama see me."

I chuckled and told her that I don't need to see - I already know.

She was so confused! :)

The older kids thought it was so funny!
Every child need to come to the realization that

Mom's have eyes in the back of their heads!
