and the sweats begin...

10 more sleeps until we are holding our boys in our arms!

I can't believe those words are even being typed!
I can't believe how far we have come in a year!

I received the paperwork needed during our trip -
and will finalize that today and get it packed!

ohhhhhh my!!!

A few weeks ago, at our adoption ministry meeting,
we were watching and discussing a DVD from Dr. Karyn Purvis,
as we discussed the different topics she brought up -
I felt like I was contradicting myself...

"The child from hard places has been so independent
that they need to learn to be dependent."

"As we welcome a new child into our home we need
to give them respect and let them lead us."

"The child may not know what to do with their emotions.
We need to hold them and love them through this time."

I guess what I am trying to say is that we have no idea
how our boys will react to us.
We have loved them from afar for a year.
I just love Hagan's little mole at his right eyebrow.

I just love Griggs' chubby little cheeks!

But, really that is all I know of them.
and they know less about us.

As we begin to pack,
and make meals,
and calendar of play dates,
getting things organized on the home front -
my heart breaks to leave my kiddos at home.

I wonder, "Ohhhh my lands, what the heck are we doing?
Is this really worth it?"

And then God tells me,
"yes, these are my children that you are loving
here on earth!
By loving them - you are loving me.
I've gotcha' covered!"

What a great God who takes away my worries!

I found that with JD being 9 when we adopted him ....I was scared to death as I didn't know how it would go. But, with his dwarfism he allowed us to carry him and each time we picked him up those sweet arms would wrap around our necks and he would kiss us. it was really a blessing and helped our transition. I cannot wait to see you with these boys!!!!!

LOVE this post. It won't be long now and you are as ready as a Mama can be. :)
Last year we were on your same timeline to bring our Liam home. It goes by so quickly.
I can't wait to see your boys in your arms!

I love how you asked "Is it really worth it?" And then God reminds you of His answer... YES, He's gotcha covered!! What you are doing is of eternal value, the most eternal value!! While others are buying bigger houses and fancier cars, you are storing up your treasures in Heaven. THANK YOU for what you're doing and what you've done. God sees your faithfulness and yes, He's gotcha covered!!
