Unique

A friend of mine, whom I don't get to see as often
as I'd like, called the other day to see if we could use some
trinkets for a "treasure box"
for our little kids -
to help encourage their good behaviors,
good attitudes,
getting their school work done...
and however else we wanted to use them.

Of course, I was ecstatic with the offer of these items!
It would be such a huge help
for our summer.

As we chatted and caught up on each others lives -
she reminded me that though our kids may
need "labels" for the school system -
she...
(she also was a 4th grade teacher - so she has tons of experience!)
she likes to look at each child and their

uniqueness

not their label!

And though I know each of my children are different,
especially my little ones -
they all have

different needs,
different stories,
different abilities,
different histories,

different personalities,
different understanding,
different sense of humor,

different ways they look at the world,

but
all in all -
they are unique in all they do!

Each one needs to parented in their unique way.

We continue to learn how to
parent each child
in a way they understand,
and feel loved.

Thank you Tami for the reminder!
Love you!
