"...who borned me?"

A friend of ours from church gave birth
to her beautiful baby boy the other night.
I showed Jorja and Jailyn his adorable photos.
They were both very excited to see this little guy who we waited to see for 9 months!

While looking at his photos
Jorja began a conversation that I wasn't ready for before my morning cup of coffee -
"I don't know who borned me"

Me:
"No Jorja, we don't know who borned you."
Jorja:
"Did she not like me?"

Me:
"No honey, I'm sure it's not that she didn't like you.
But sometimes people are unable to raise their children, feed them and give them
the education they want for their children.
So some people have to bring their children to the orphanage so their forever family can find them."

Jorja:
"And that is how you found me?"

Me:
"Yep! We prayed for you and God led us to you,
and we went to China to bring you home."

Jorja:
"Well, that was nice of her,
so I can learn and
have toys and things."

Me:
"Yes, it was nice of her and
we are thankful that she made this sacrifice."
Jorja:
"You are my 'real' mommy and I love you."
and a hug fest took place.

Ohhh how I love this girl!
And am so thankful that she feels comfortable to ask questions about her birth mom,
and the first five years of her life -
and am so thankful that God is healing her heart
one day at a time.

Whew. That went exceptionally well. I'm waiting for the day that Josie starts asking those tough questions.

I have tears in my eyes reading your post. I know one day, I/we will cross that path with Emma. What a sweet darling little girl you have there. I love your post!

This was very sweet. I love that you talked to her openly about it. Sometimes it is hard for people to do that. And that whole real mommy issue is such a pain! I am glad God gave you to each other!
