"Thanks Mom"

A few weeks ago,

I was going about my business at home -

laundry, cooking dinner...  

and Conner, my 12 year old,

came up behind me and gave me a BIG hug!

He needs lots of hugs all day long -

so I stopped what I was doing,

and gave him a BIG hug back.

Kinda thinking this is his normal -

school was hard, 

socializing is even harder,

striving for straight A's is all consuming.

He then looked at me,

and said,

"Thanks Mom."

"For what?" I asked.

And with tears welling up in his eyes,

he answered,

"For never giving up on me."

And then the hug fest was on!!!

Just a reminder -

don't give up on our kids -

no matter how difficult day-to-day issues can be.

They need us!

and 

we need them!

I am truly blessed to be able to call him son!
