Sunday Snapshot: A look at our boys home

This is their playground...

Their swing set...

Their teeter-totter
Their jungle-gym

 Their bed...
Donovan and Elijah share the bottom bunk

Their toys that they have hidden away.

To our boys this will soon be a thing of the past.
Their time at the orphanage will be history.
They will begin to heal,
and begin to share their memories.
We will hold them when they hurt,
and
listen when they want to share.

But...

we can't forget the millions of children
this is their life...
day after day...
with no hope of
real education,
real love,
real pride,
real joy,

a real family.

The crisis is happening NOW!

So hard to see these photos. Yet, so important for us all to SEE this and be moved to do something. Beautiful post!! :)

Yes, if only everyone could see what life is like for orphans around the world. So many more would be moved to CARE - in some way - and help make a difference in the life of an orphan.
Thank you for sharing :)

With tears streaming down my face, thank you for sharing something so very private to your boys and your family. But oh so powerful . .

You know, the boys are living better then most of the kids in their home country. They have a simple life by US standards...but they have beds, toys, food. The real poverty is no family. No parents. And now they are rich! I don't think children feel poor. This is what they know. I think it's not so bad! At least not by Ethiopian standards! And my 3 adopted children would not want to look back on their old lives as "poor things". They need to be proud of where they came from. What they lack is not better homes and stuff...they lack people to belong to. The poverty is not the old playground equipment and old beds. The poverty is no family to love them. But even in this case Jodi, they had each other. They were blessed to belong to each other! Life will only get better and better! They are beautiful boys!
