This week we were asked for the first time in front of Jorja and Jailyn if they were "sisters".
I answered, "no"
(Knowing that the person was asking if they were biological sisters. )
Jorja and Jailyn were shocked that I answered
"No"
"No"
and began a 20 minute lecture on
the fact that they indeed are
Sisters!
And sisters they are!!!

We get this question and one of my daughters is biological and one from China. I always answer "yes, when we adopted Rylee from China, they became real sisters." This answers the adoption question and also gently (I hope) lets them know that they really shouldn't be asking about the "real" especially in front of the kids.
I've faced this question many times. One response has been, "not biological, but yes REAL sisters." Although I am not sure why anyone feels the need to ask this question, esp in front of the children. :( Oh, and I am glad your DDs knew the answer themselves! :)
