The true Christmas story!

A few days ago we (Jailyn, Jorja, Conner, Kenzie and I)
went out to run a few errands,
we came home to
2 large red gift bags on our porch.
With excitement the kids all ran from the car
to see what had arrived!

Our neighbors had dropped these off for the kids!

Included was this awesome nativity scene.

As we set up this sweet gift,
we were able to once again,
share the true meaning of Christmas
with Jorja and Jailyn.
(It does a momma's heart good hearing her
big kids share the story of Christmas with
the little ones!)

Later, Jorja couldn't get the Nativity story off her mind.
And the questions began...
The idea of being born in a stable rocked the world of
my OCD baby -

"But mommy, it's yucky there.
It's dirty!  It's poopy!"

"Yes Jorja, There was no room in the hotel,
so Joseph and Mary had to rest in the stable,
and that is where Jesus was born."

"Mommy?"  with a quiet pause,
"Jesus didn't be born in a hospital?"

"No, hon."

"Mommy?  God can make anything, right?"

"yes, He created us, and the heavens and earth."

"Why He no make a nice bed for Jesus?"

before I could say anything she continued.

"before you come to China to get me,
I didn't have a nice bed, either.
Thank you for coming to get me,
and be my family,
and give me a nice bed."

Galatians 4:4-5
4But when the fullness of the time was come,
God sent forth his Son, made of a woman,
made under the law,
5To redeem them that were under the law,
that we might receive the adoption of sons.

Jorja's comment brought tears to my eyes. The love of Christ so obviously abounds in your family. Beautiful!

What a sweet story. You really need a tissue alert at the top of this post.

How exciting is that to watch her make that connection! What a great reminder to me that the Lord Jesus knows what it felt like to have bed.

Oh Jodi....I'm with Kim...you shoulda warned us about the tissue alert. That sweet Jorja girl is something special...though I know you already knew that! ;) She's got a heart and spirit about her that is so deep for such a young one. Praise God she understands that you have provided what she needed and will, in time, fully understand that her Lord provided for her, too. HUGS my friend and thanks for sharing!
