Being obedient

Being obedient doesn't always mean life is going to be easy.

As parents we all have rules in our households,
some more strict then others,
but we all have rules that we expect to
be obeyed.

A few weeks ago,
I was chatting with some friends,
and voicing what a crazy school year next year will be.
We will have 2 high schoolers
(attending 2 different high schools),
1 middle schooler,
and 2 home schooled kindergarteners,
and adding 1 or more kiddos to our family.

One friend looked at the other and said,
"she did bring the last few on herself."

Actually, I guess I brought all five of them on myself.
(with hubbies help)
I'm wondering why biological kids aren't thought
as, "bringing them on myself",
but our adopted kids are.

God blessed us with 3 pregnancies,
His timing was perfect for each of these pregnancies,
our 3 oldest didn't happen in "our" timing.
And our adoptions were God's timing also.

Obedience in our lives means giving way to God's plan.
He has our path paved,
we just need to obey and follow.
Why is this so hard?

Bryan and I like to plan and to be in control,
we have financial plans,
we have dreams and hopes for our kids.
But, none of our hopes, dreams and plans
can compare to the plans that God has
for our family.
We are continuing to learn to give God
the reigns and allow Him to lead,
without dragging our heels.
Amazing the peace He gives when we are obedient.

John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.
I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled and
do not be afraid.
