I know that this surgery is a need,
I know that this surgery will help Jailyn with her speech,
I know that my hope is in the Lord,
and He will keep her safe.
But, I am still her mommy!
and it still breaks my heart!
Our surgical team will be elongating Jailyn's palate.
Presently, she has too much air pushing through
her throat,
which makes her speech difficult to understand.
This is a pretty intense surgery,
not as bad as her surgery almost 3 years ago,
but still pretty intense.
She will also have tubes put in her ears -
as she has 30-40% hearing loss.
We are really hoping that the tubes will correct this loss.
We will be in the hospital for at least one night,
depending on how she does.
Last surgery was really difficult for her emotionally,
as soon as we got home she was much more relaxed
and was able to recover much quicker!

(..Think of all the poor kiddos who go through this is China with no family to nurture them ...breaks my heart)
Prayers coming your way from West MI. ((Hugs)) from another SN adoptive Mommy.
It's never easy to see your child in pain. Jessica has had surgery 16 times. I'm glad she has a mommy so she doesn't have to be alone. You will be with her, and you will help her.
Madi may need the same surgery. I will be following along and keeping you in my prayers.
((Hugs))
What a sweet little picture. I just loved meeting Jailyn the other day. I liked her "there goes a bus" game! Will say a special prayer for all of you on Friday!
Girl, do you need anything? What hospital will you all be at?
I am praying she will heal quickly and have wonderful results.
She is such a deserving sweet soul.
You are in my thoughts friend.
