Love thy neighbor...

Why is this so hard some times?

I hate the saying,

"Good fences make good neighbors"

When we lived in Omaha,

very few neighborhoods had good fences.

The neighbor kids played in our yard,

and we were "family"!

I loved it! 

In Texas, we have small backyards,

and tall fences. 

We really don't know our neighbors.

Recently I realized how much I don't know my neighbors,

we wave from our drive ways,

and may even cross the street once a year to chat.

But, really they don't know that I really do care about them.

Recently, we found out about a neighbor in need.

And can I just say,

it has been so beautiful to see neighbors,

neighbors who don't know each other  -

willing to help! 

Our neighbors made up this basket of goodies 

for this family,

(more items arrived after I took the photo too

gift cards and cash were included!).

Just an encouragement here -

cause I need it too.

reach out to your neighbors! 

They may have a smile on their faces

when waving to you as they drive down the street -

but they may need you!
